Technology User Agreement

- All users and their parents must sign an agreement before being granted computer privileges at The Academy of Moore County.
- Students must care for the computer equipment in their use. Financial restitution will be sought from students who deliberately damage school technology.
- Computers are to be used for educational purposes. Students must work only in those areas of the Internet that apply to curriculum study, unless specified recreational use is approved and supervised by a staff member.
- Users must adhere to copyright and software piracy policies and legislation. Only school-installed software can be used on teh computers. Users may not copy software illegally.
- Fodd and drink are not permitted near computers.
- Students may only use computers with the permission and under the supervision of school staff members.
- Email is not available for students. The use of obscene, profane, forged, anonymous, harassing, abusive, false, rude, inflammatory or threatening messages is not permitted and will be punished.
- Users shall not use any computer ot access material that is obscene, advocates violence or discrimination, or is illegal.
- Users will not post contact information about themselves or others people on the network or Internet. Personal information includes home addresses, telephone numbers, school addresses, ages, last names, etc.
- Students are obliged to disclose to their teachers knowledge they possess of any inappropriate behavior regarding compuer use, including but not limited to damage and abuse.
- Users must only log on to the network using their own personal access or as a guest.
